CFSA Partners on Financial Literacy Effort

CFSA has a strong tradition of promoting financial education.  Over the years, the association has partnered with community-based groups such as the National Urban League and companies such as Pay Rent Build Credit, a non traditional credit reporting bureau, to help consumers learn the essentials of managing money and building good credit.

In conjunction with the launching of its public education campaign, CFSA partnered with several reputable organizations to launch a National Financial Literacy Initiative. This initiative is broad in scope and reaches a diverse audience, from youth to adult volunteers.  Moreover, it focuses on a wide range of personal finance topics, from banking basics to consumer credit reporting.

Partners in the CFSA National Financial Literacy Initiative include organizations such as, the National Conference of Black Mayors (PDF), which will launch a series of Youth Empowerment Summits and the National Black Caucus of States Institute (PDF), which will educate African American legislators on inherent problems with the country’s consumer credit reporting system and the impact such problems have on consumers’ ability to build wealth.
