CFSA Bans Frivolous Advertising

CFSA believes that it is the industry’s responsibility to encourage only the responsible use of payday advances.  Consequently, CFSA has amended its Industry Best Practices to include a ban on marketing the payday advance service for frivolous purposes.  Such purposes include, but are not limited to:

• Entertainment
• Gambling
• Vacations
• Spas/Salon Treatments
• Nightclubs

CFSA’s New Best Practice states:

Truthful Advertising: A member will not advertise the payday advance service in any false, misleading, or deceptive manner and will promote only the responsible use of the payday advance service.
