2009 Conference Highlights

The 2009 Annual Meeting and Conference took place at the Orlando Omni at Championsgate, Florida under the theme How to Thrive and Survive in 2009.

We kicked off our Conference on Wednesday, March 4, with our annual Golf Tournament on the International course at Championsgate. Then it was down to business with morning and afternoon breakout sessions that offered in-depth specifics on what owners can do to “survive and thrive” in the increasingly hostile regulatory environment.

24 Breakout Sessions covered a wide range of vital topics including:

  • Internet and Electronic Transactions

  •  Valuations

  •  Retail Marketing Strategies

  •  Compliance and Selling Your Business

  •  Mergers and Acquisitions

  •  Avoiding FTC Enforcement Actions

  •  Accessing the Risk of Fraud

  •  Adding New Products in a Monoline Operation

The Exhibit Hall was another highly-charged area. Nearly 30 Exhibitors were on hand demonstrating a wide range of exciting new and long-time favorite products. We opened the Hall with an outstanding Japanese drum ensemble complete with a Samurai warrior in full armor!

Meanwhile, attendees and exhibitors took advantage of the opening reception and cocktail party to meet, greet and tour the Hall.

By all measures, our 2009 gathering was a complete success! We had great attendance, great speakers and sponsors and to top if all off, great weather as well.
